SPEY CASTING TUITIONS ON THE TAY

Arguably Fishing and casting are two different things, but if your casting is accurate and effortless you will be covering more water, spending more time with your fly actively fishing, you will be safer (no need to wade in the middle of the river) and more confident.

If you are new to fishing, having Spey casting lessons with a professional instructor is the best way to progress quickly.

We work with Tom Brown, a renowned Spey Caster and part of the Greys Pro Team. Tom has a wealth of experience and will adapt his tuition to your needs whether you are a beginner or a competent caster wanting a refresher.

A typical day runs from 8:30am to 5:00pm with a lovely lunch at the boathouse.

Program:
8:30: Meet at the hut for coffee. Outline of the day ahead
9:00: Spey Casting theory: understanding the key aspects of any Spey Cast
9:30: Casting tuition and one to one coaching
13:00: Lunch
14:00: Spey casting Practice and river-craft surgery: Participants will have the opportunity to fish under Tom’s guidance.
15:30: Learn further styles of casting while fishing
17:00: Debrief on the day, Q&A

We also host ladies only tuition days, give us a call or send us an e-mail to fishing@islamouth.co.uk to plan your Ladies Day.

What to bring: Just turn-up with some sensible clothing, a pair of wellies or preferably waders*, a good hat or cap and some shades/glasses for protection. Please note that we can arrange wader rental through our local tackle shop Kate Fleming.
